Narrative economics in the digital era


This belief in the rationality of homo economicus started to show some cracks a few years ago. And even, the intellectual arrogance of economists begins to yield a little, but only a little. The most recent and notable example of this intellectual “humility” is the book by Robert J. Shiller, Nobel Prize in Economics and professor at Yale University, entitled Narrative economics. How stories go viral and drive major economic events (Princeton University Press, 2019).
