Dealing with information fragmentation in times of pandemic

When we find divergent points of view on a matter as delicate as the COVID-19 pandemic,
we must understand what motivates the discourse of an authority or an interlocutor
.

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated a phenomenon that we have already described in the area of health communication: the fragmentation of discourses. By fragmentation we understand the diffusion of divergent points of view on the same disease or condition. Although not new, the phenomenon of fragmentation has been exacerbated by the multiplicity of digital platforms and media. Fragmentation is not just the result of different scientific perspectives. It is also the expression of conflicting interests and passions.
